Countermeasure has been invited to kick off this invite-only event.

 ABOUT THE FILM:

Inspired by a true story, THE SAPPHIRES follows four vivacious, young and talented Australian Aboriginal girls from a remote mission as they learn about love, friendship and war when their all girl group The Sapphires entertains the U.S. troops in Vietnam in 1968. Cynthia (Tapsell), Gail (Mailman), Julie (Mauboy) and Kay (Sebbens) are discovered by Dave (O’Dowd), a good-humored talent scout with a kind heart, very little rhythm but a great knowledge of soul music. As their manager, Dave books the sisters their first true gig giving them their first taste of stardom, and travels them to Vietnam to sing for American troops.

Countermeasure will be presenting the first show in their unique three-part 2012-2013 collaboration series, on December 13th. In this not-to-be-missed event, you will see and hear Countermeasure providing FULLY IMPROVISED musical accompaniment  for the improv comedy group, JerJosh and the SteveCams. Countermeasure will also be opening the evening with some a cappella holiday favourites, and a few new selections from the 2012 repertoire.

The show will take place at the Augusta House in Kensington Market (152 Augusta Ave.) at 8pm. Tickets available at the door.
